BARCELONA, TUESDAY – The clash between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the continuation of the UEFA Champions League, Thursday (2/10/2025) at 02:00 WIB, is akin to a battlefield of artists on the green field. The duo of coaches and the players are the creators of a masterpiece, while the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium serves as their canvas for creation.
PSG's arrival at Barcelona feels like returning home to a master. PSG coach Luis Enrique is heavily influenced by the attacking playing style of Barca, which occupies the spaces in his mind.
The tiki-taka style championed by the Blaugrana in the late 2000s has been transformed by Luis Enrique in Paris, the world's fashion capital. PSG's attacking play is more elegant and adaptable, despite lacking a "super" striker like Lionel Messi, who Luis Enrique coached 11 seasons ago.
Enrique was even able to help Ousmane Dembele reach the "super saiyan" level akin to Goku in the Dragon Ball animation, thus winning the Ballon d'Or to surpass Barca star, Lamine Yamal.
However, the two players won't be facing each other directly at the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium. Dembele has yet to recover from a hamstring injury. Yamal has recovered from his injury, but his physical fitness isn't yet at its best.

Despite the admiration that Enrique provided with a treble winner, including PSG's first European Champions League title, Barca also paved the way for a new era of dominance.
Still plagued by seemingly endless financial issues, German coach Hans-Dieter Flick has brought Barca to a new dimension on the green pitch. Three domestic titles, namely La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa, are a testament to Flick being the right figure for Blaugrana.
Undoubtedly, Enrique and Flick are like two artists who will compete by wielding their levers, namely the players, to color the canvas. The various colors are presented for the sole purpose of achieving victory.
"I've always admired Hansi (Flick). He's led Bayern Munich to numerous titles and played at the highest level. I admire him. I've watched him closely, admired him very much, and his level of football is very high," Enrique said, as reported by Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday (September 30, 2025).
Two stubborn offensive coaches with their philosophies will meet for the second time. Previously, they shared a draw when Spain played 1-1 against Germany in the group stage of the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Both coaches are in charge of their respective national teams.

In order to achieve his first victory against Enrique, Flick aims to refine the new advantage of Barca that has only been seen for the first time in the 21st century, namely goals scored from the air. The last four goals of Barca were produced through headers, with two goals from Robert Lewandowski, followed by one header each from Ronald Araujo and Jules Kounde.
The last time Blaugrana scored four consecutive goals through headers was at the beginning of the 1999-2000 season. Like Lewandowski, Patrick Kluivert, the current coach of the Indonesian national team, scored with his head in two consecutive matches.
The increasing variety of ways to score goals gives Barca a slight edge over PSG, the defending Champions League champion, in this match.
"We've practiced a lot of actions for different attacking and defensive situations. We have time to continue improving those skills," Flick said, as reported by Sport.
Barca's Sports Director Deco stated that his team is much better this season compared to Flick's inaugural season. He is optimistic that Barca can achieve more titles, particularly by improving their performance after being eliminated in the semifinals of the Champions League.

"A number of our players are entering a golden period in their careers. I also see their individual development improving," Deco said in an exclusive interview with Mundo Deportivo.
Like a paintbrush, that role will be played by Pedri for Barcelona and Vitinha at PSG. These two players are currently among the best central midfielders in the world of football. Their height, which is considered "short" in Europe as it does not reach 1.75 meters, is compensated by their high intelligence.
Pedri continues to establish himself as the mastermind behind Barca's gameplay. Together with Frenkie de Jong, Pedri has transformed Barca into a very strong and dominant team from the midfield. One goal, an average of 3.6 key passes per match, and three big chance creations are a testament to Pedri's significant role in the first eight matches of the 2025-2026 season.
According to the statistics page, Sofascore, Pedri is the second highest-rated player for Barca this season. Pedri has an average rating of 7.94. Only Yamal (8.03) has a better rating than the player trained at the Las Palmas Academy.
"I have great admiration for Pedri," said Manchester United legend Paul Scholes, regarding his impression of Pedri when Barca triumphed over Newcastle United, 2-1, in the first match of the 2025-2026 Champions League.

Meanwhile, Vitinha is an unsung hero of PSG. Not receiving much attention, yet his role is irreplaceable. Sitting in third place in the 2025 Ballon d'Or is proof that his world-class quality has been recognized by the public.
Vitinha is the first Portuguese footballer to break into the top three of the Ballon d'Or since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2019. At the beginning of this season, Vitinha also made an immediate impact amid the injury storm affecting the PSG squad. One goal and three assists are Vitinha's contributions in seven matches.
However, Vitinha's performance at Barcelona's headquarters remains full of questions. He suffered a minor injury during the Ligue 1 match against Auxerre last weekend. He was substituted by Achraf Hakimi just 36 minutes into the first half. In fact, four minutes prior, he provided an assist for Ilya Zabarnyi's goal.
"We do not want to take significant risks in the case of Vitinha. Hopefully, there is nothing serious for him, so that he can participate in important matches in Barcelona," said Enrique.
