Meeting Several Editors-in-Chief, President Prabowo Ready to Answer Various Questions

BOGOR, KOMPAS - Located in the library room of his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java Province, on Sunday (6/4/2025), President Prabowo Subianto met with several chief editors. Moderated by Valerina Daniel from TVRI, President Prabowo engaged in discussions and answered various questions from the chief editors.

The editors in question are Editor-in-Chief of Harian Kompas Sutta Dharmasaputra, Editor-in-Chief of Detikcom Alfito Deannova Gintings, Editor-in-Chief of SCTV-Indosiar Retno Pinasti, Editor-in-Chief of TV One Lalu Mara Satriawangsa, Editor-in-Chief of IDN Times Uni Lubis, and Founder of Narasi Najwa Shihab.

Information gathered indicates that the president's meeting with the editors-in-chief will be turned into a program called "President Prabowo Answers." "It will be an interview with President Prabowo," said Sutta.

It is reported that this event is the idea of President Prabowo Subianto himself, as a follow-up to a recent meeting and discussion between several chief editors and the president.

"And, the president proposed that there be periodic activities to hold discussions with a number of editors-in-chief," said Sutta before the event began.

The meeting between the President and the editors-in-chief was scheduled to last approximately two hours. "We were allowed to ask the President anything, whether about current issues or any other matters. And the President would be willing to provide answers," said Sutta.

In agreement, TV One Editor-in-Chief Lalu Mara stated that this meeting serves as a follow-up to the president's meeting with editors-in-chief held before Ramadan. "We, along with other editors-in-chief, did not know what questions would be asked. So, this is interesting," he said.

Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Angga Raka Prabowo confirmed that the meeting was the idea of President Prabowo directly. "Last month the president had a discussion with the editor-in-chief. Then, around 150 working days, there were many requests from the media to interview the president. The president then (said) it seems like it's time for an interview and to answer many of the issues that are developing," said Angga.

According to Angga, the President also wanted to convey things that had been done during his 150 days in government.

"This concept emerged. Instead of waiting one by one, why not have the president (meet) with seven journalists at once today? We say bismillah, hopefully he will answer," said Angga.

On Thursday (20/2/2025) afternoon, Sutta received an invitation from Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Angga Raka Prabowo to attend a gathering with President Prabowo Subianto. Initially, the gathering of the president with the editors-in-chief would be held at the Presidential Palace.

However, the event was canceled after Angga informed the postponement on Thursday afternoon. On Friday afternoon, Angga returned to report that the event was changed to Saturday afternoon and the location was moved from the Presidential Palace to the Garudayaksa Padepokan, Hambalang, Bogor.
