Popsivo Polwan's Dominance Has Not Been Shaken

PONTIANAK, SATURDAY - The dominance of the women's volleyball team, Jakarta Popsivo Polwan, remains unshaken in the 2025 Proliga. With consecutive victories up to the ninth match, Popsivo Polwan further solidifies its position at the top of the temporary standings.

Jakarta Popsivo Polwan surged in the women's sector competition by continuing to secure victories until the first day of the sixth week of Proliga 2025, Friday (14/2/2025). Playing at GOR Terpadu A Yani Pontianak, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan, Popsivo won decisively 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-13) against Jakarta Electric PLN.

That was the ninth consecutive victory for Popsivo Polwan, solidifying their position in the temporary standings with 25 points. The champions of the first round are getting closer to securing the title in the second round.

Popsivo Polwan coach Gerardo Daglio is determined to maintain his team's victory. "We must be able to maintain the victory until the final four," said Daglio.

Proliga 2025 will hold seven regular round weeks. The four best teams in each sector will advance to the final four to be held after Eid al-Fitr, in April.

According to Gerardo, it was actually not easy for the team to maintain their winning streak until the ninth match. He asked his protégés to train harder, with no room for relaxation.

Outside hitterPopsivo Polwan, Arsela Nuari Purnama, said that her team actually received pressure because they played as the host. However, Arsela and her friends were finally able to get out of the pressure and win the match.

Meanwhile, the assistant coach of Electric PLN, Alim Suseno, did not deny that the performance of his trainees did not meet expectations. With that defeat, Electric PLN failed to add points and thus remains in fourth place in the temporary standings. They have collected 14 points.

Still in the women's sector, Gresik Petrokimia Pupuk Indonesia opened up the opportunity to advance to the final four after defeating its rival, Bandung bjb Tandamata, 3-2 (20-25, 25-19, 28-26, 21-25, 15-12). With this victory, Gresik has the same points as Electric PLN.

However, Gresik's position is still below Electric PLN because it has fewer wins with more matches played. Gresik has played its tenth match and has only won four of them.

Petrokimia coach Ayub Hidayat is happy that his team was able to win over Bandung bjb. This result avenged the defeat in the first meeting between the two teams when Petrokimia lost 1-3.

"This victory can also lift the children's spirits to be able to enter the final four," said Petrokimia coach, Ayub Hidayat.

Petrokimia team captain, Mediol Stiovanny Yoku, said his team lost many points and had difficulty lifting them back. "But we are also grateful to win, hopefully in the next match against Jakarta Livin' Mandiri we can win again," said Mediol.

Mediol and friends will face Livin’ Mandiri in the continuation of the sixth week, Saturday (2/15/2025), at 14.00 WIB.
