BANDUNG, KOMPAS - The Constitutional Court has conducted a dismissal hearing or interim decision related to seven regional head election dispute cases in West Java. Based on the hearing, six regional head election dispute cases in West Java were not continued, while one other case continued to the evidentiary hearing.
The Chairman of the West Java General Election Commission (KPU) Ahmad Nur Hidayat, when contacted from Bandung on Wednesday (2/5/2025), said that one case proceeding to the proof hearing is the Tasikmalaya Regency Regional Election.
In this case, the candidate pair Cecep Nurul Yakin and Asep Sopari Al Ayubi are the petitioners. Meanwhile, the Tasikmalaya KPU is the respondent.
In their lawsuit, the Cecep-Asep pair questioned the KPU's decision to approve and designate Ade Sugianto as a candidate for Regent of Tasikmalaya in the 2024 Regional Election. According to the Cecep-Asep camp, Ade has already served as the Regent of Tasikmalaya for two terms.

"Meanwhile, the six cases that did not proceed are the Depok City Election, Pangandaran Regency, Bogor Regency, Cirebon Regency, Subang Regency, and Bandung Regency," explained Ahmad.
He explained that the Depok City and Pangandaran Regency Pilkada dispute did not continue because the application was withdrawn by the candidate pair as the applicant.
In the evidentiary hearing for the gubernatorial election level, the petitioner can bring six witnesses and experts, while for the regency election, a maximum of four people.
Meanwhile, the petition for the regional elections in Bogor Regency, Cirebon Regency, Subang Regency, and Bandung Regency could not be accepted by the Constitutional Court (MK) due to several legal considerations.
"According to the plan, the local KPU will determine the elected candidate pairs in these six regions on February 5," said Ahmad.

The interim verdict hearings for four other regional election cases in West Java will be held at the Constitutional Court this Wednesday at 7:30 PM WIB. These four cases are the regional elections of West Bandung Regency, Cianjur Regency, Bekasi City, and Sukabumi Regency.
The Deputy Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court, Saldi Isra, stated that there are 20 cases that were decided to proceed to the evidentiary hearing on Tuesday (4/2/2025) yesterday. One of them is the Tasikmalaya Regency Regional Election case.
"The continuation of the evidence hearing will take place from February 7-17, 2025. In the evidence hearing for the gubernatorial election level, the petitioner may bring six witnesses and experts, while for the regency election, a maximum of four people," explained Saldi.
