Two photographic works from two different photographers, and from two different places, depict the same thing.
The first photo was taken in Ramat, Tel Aviv on June 13, 2025, by AFP photographer Jack Guez, depicting a young girl being carried by a medical officer from the site of a missile explosion launched by Iran that struck a residential building in Israel.
The gaze of the child in the blue shirt appeared confused, as if unaware of what was happening; he resignedly was carried on the back of a medical officer in an orange vest. The officer's face was covered in beads of sweat that seemed to be reflecting the light from the lamp.
Behind him, dozens of soldiers and rescue teams were visible next to a building that looked damaged.

In contrast to the military atmosphere in the background of the Israeli photo, the Iranian photo is dominated by civilians.
War only causes suffering for children, women and civilians. At least that's what the photo shows.
The war that began on Friday morning (13/6/2025) when Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran aimed at destroying nuclear facilities and military infrastructure, as well as targeting some residential buildings. The operation, named "Lion Nation," reportedly resulted in the deaths of Major General Hossein Salami, the Supreme Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, as well as nuclear scientists Fereydoon Abbasi and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
A total of 86 people were killed and 341 others injured in a massive airstrike launched by Israel in this initial attack on Iranian territory. Israel commenced a large-scale military operation by deploying approximately 200 fighter jets to bombard Iran's nuclear program facilities and long-range missile capabilities.

Mutual attacks with missiles and other heavy weaponry between Israel and Iran have entered the third day, Sunday (15/6/2025) local time, despite calls to cease hostilities.
Iran stated that Israel attacked its oil refinery, resulting in 224 fatalities. Health authorities also reported that 1,277 individuals were injured, without distinguishing between military officials and civilians.
Israeli attacks are increasingly expanding beyond Iranian military installations to strike government buildings, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and several energy facilities, triggering large fires at the Shahran oil depot in northern Tehran and fuel tanks in the southern part of the city. Iran has converted metro stations and mosques into bomb shelters for its residents.
Meanwhile, Israel, which has directed its missiles at Iran's rapidly advancing nuclear program and military leadership, stated that Iran has fired more than 270 missiles since Friday, 22 of which successfully penetrated the advanced layered air defense in the country, causing chaos in the suburbs, resulting in 14 deaths and injuring 390 others.
A damaged oil refinery in the city of Haifa, northern Israel, said the company operating it. Israel's main international airport and its airspace have been closed for the third day.
Air raid sirens sounded across Jerusalem and major cities in Israel, causing residents to flee to bomb shelters in the coastal metropolitan city of Tel Aviv and the northern port city of Haifa. The Israeli military reported that nearly two dozen Iranian missiles had evaded the celebrated Iron Dome air defense system and struck residential areas.
