JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The joint Search and Rescue team has once again found a victim of the landslide in Majenang, Cilacap Regency, Central Java. On Friday (14/11/2025) at 10:43 AM WIB, a victim named Yuni was found dead in Dusun Tarukahan, one of the two affected villages. With this, the total number of fatalities has risen to 3, while 20 individuals are still being searched for.
"The victim Yuni was successfully evacuated and immediately taken to the Majenang Regional Hospital at 10:56 AM WIB after the team cleared a significant amount of debris that had fallen on the victim," said the Head of the Cilacap Search and Rescue Office, Muhamad Abdullah, on Friday.
Previously, a landslide struck Cibeunying Village in Majenang District on Thursday (13/11/2025) at around 20:00. Two hamlets were affected, namely Tarukahan and Cibuyut.
At the beginning of the handling, data from the Cilacap Search and Rescue team indicated that the incident resulted in the deaths of two residents of Tarukahan, with seven others still missing. Meanwhile, in Cibuyut, there have been no reports of fatalities, but 14 individuals remain unaccounted for.

After Yuni was found on Friday afternoon, the death toll rose to three victims. Meanwhile, 20 people are still missing, including 6 individuals in Tarukahan Hamlet and 14 individuals in Cibuyut Hamlet.
"The search and rescue process is ongoing, conducted by a joint SAR team consisting of various related elements. Safety and precision remain the top priorities in the evacuation process," said Abdullah.
The incident has garnered attention from the central government. Therefore, the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Suharyanto will directly review the emergency disaster response at the affected location on Friday evening. "As directed by President Prabowo Subianto, this visit carries the mission of ensuring that all emergency disaster response efforts are conducted optimally, integratively, and comprehensively," he stated.
Previously, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) through the Deputy for Emergency Management (Deputy 3) Budi Irawan and the Quick Reaction Team (TRC) had departed earlier to the affected location. Upon arrival, they immediately assessed the site and provided logistical support and equipment. Budi also led the initial coordination with relevant inter-agency stakeholders.
From the preliminary report, Suharyanto stated that search and rescue remains the top priority. There are 20 individuals who have not yet been found. They are suspected to be buried under the landslide debris.

The process involved approximately 200 personnel, including Basarnas, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, Tagana, PMI, TNI, Polri, and volunteers as well as local communities. These personnel were supported by logistical assistance and equipment, including heavy machinery and water pumps. "We hope that all missing residents can be found soon," said Suharyanto.
The Head of the Data, Information, and Disaster Communication Center of BNPB, Abdul Muhari, stated that in addition to 3 fatalities and 20 individuals still missing, 23 people survived the landslide. The survivors have sought refuge at the homes of their closest relatives.
In addition to causing casualties, the landslide resulted in material losses. There are 12 houses that were severely damaged due to being buried under landslide material, and 16 houses scattered in Dusun Tarukahan and Dusun Cibuyut are at risk of landslides.
