The pretrial process that will be resubmitted is different from the investigation. The Corruption Eradication Commission will also re-submit a second summons for Hasto.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The investigation team of the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK rejected the reasons given by suspect Hasto Kristiyanto for evading examination. This is because the pretrial process that will be refiled is different from the investigation. KPK has also scheduled a summons for Hasto on Thursday or Friday this week.
For your information, investigators summoned Hasto to the Merah Putih Building of the KPK in Jakarta on Monday (17/2/2025). However, Hasto Kristiyanto did not attend because he was in the process of filing another pretrial motion regarding his suspect status. The examination of him was requested to be postponed until the pretrial process is completed.
However, the spokesperson for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto, stated that the reason for Hasto's absence from the examination summons could not be accepted by the investigators. This is because the pretrial process that Hasto is pursuing is different from the KPK investigation.
"The investigators believe there is no reasonable or justifiable reason for not attending the summons as a suspect today. Therefore, a second summons letter will be sent," said Tessa in Jakarta, Monday.

According to the plan, Hasto will be summoned again on Thursday (20/2/2025) or Friday (21/2/2025). Before skipping the second examination today, Hasto had attended the first examination as a suspect on Monday (13/2/2025).
Tessa added that a second summons was necessary to fulfill the lack of several documents as evidence. Hasto was also asked to bring them during the second examination process as a suspect. This is also the reason why Hasto has not been detained despite having been a suspect since the end of December 2024.
So the investigators believe there is no reasonable and justifiable reason for not attending the summons as a suspect today. Therefore, a second summons letter will be issued.

On the other hand, Hasto also filed a pretrial motion against his suspect status at the South Jakarta District Court. However, the process failed.
Sole Judge Djuyamto decided not to accept Hasto's pretrial motion. Because, according to him, Hasto was named a suspect in two cases, while the applicant did not clearly specify the invalidity of the suspect determination in which case.
For information, Hasto is a suspect in two cases. The cases in question are bribery of the management of DPR members 2019-2024 and obstruction of the investigation of the case.
KPK Deputy Chairman Johanis Tanak, separately, added that the existence of a pretrial motion does not disrupt the investigation process. This can be excluded if there is a request from the judge to postpone the case examination process until there is a pretrial ruling.
"Ideally, as a good citizen, he (Hasto Kristiyanto) would come to fulfill the investigator's summons," said Johanis Tanak.

Hasto's attorney, Ronny Talapessy, confirmed that the KPK investigators had summoned his client today. However, his party has sent a letter requesting a postponement of the examination to the KPK because they have now filed a pretrial motion again.
"We have filed a pretrial motion again after it was not accepted in the ruling last Thursday, which we believe should have been filed in two pretrial motions, not combined in one pretrial motion," he said.
Ronny hopes that by filing two pretrial motions, the judges at the South Jakarta District Court can examine the main points of the pretrial motion that have not been touched on in the previous pretrial motion decision.
