Persib Bandung won the 2025/2026 Super League mid-season title with a winning performance after defeating rivals Persija Jakarta.

BANDUNG, KOMPAS - Persib Bandung won the match titled the Indonesia derby against their eternal rival, Persija Jakarta, with a score of 1-0, in the 17th week of the 2025/2026 Super League competition on Sunday (11/1/2026) at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Bandung City, West Java. With this victory, Persib secured the title of mid-season champion.
With this victory, the team nicknamed Maung Bandung is at the top of the BRI Super League standings with a total of 38 points. Persib is formidable with 12 wins, 3 losses, and 2 draws.
Persib has moved Borneo FC to second place, while Persija has dropped from second to third place. Borneo has a total of 37 points, and Persija has 35 points.
A total of 29,616 bobotoh (Persib supporters), the nickname for Persib supporters, attended the GBLA Stadium in person. All tickets for the match were sold out.

Persib launched an assault on the defense area of the visiting team nicknamed Macan Kemayoran from the very beginning of the match. The attacking line of Persib was spearheaded by the trio Bekham Putra, Uilliam Barros, and Berguinho da Silva.
Through a quick counterattack, Berguinho delivered a cross from the right corner of the opponent's defensive area. The Persija defender miscleared the low cross.
Bekham, who appeared in the penalty box, successfully seized the ball and scored against Persija, guarded by goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo, in the 5th minute.

Entering the second half, the tension of the game between the two teams intensified. Persija's right-back, Bruno De Barros, received a red card for stepping on Beckham's foot.

According to him, this derby match took place with high intensity and it was difficult to score many goals. However, the atmosphere in this match was fantastic due to the high enthusiasm of the supporters throughout the 90 minutes.
