BANDUNG, SATURDAY - Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi's optimism in facing the 2025 Proliga final four is growing. This is inseparable from the fourth victory to solidify their position in second place in the men's standings.
The fourth victory was achieved when facing Palembang Bank SumselBabel in the closing match of the second round of the fifth week of Proliga 2025, on Saturday (8/2/2025) night. Playing at GOR Jalak Harupat, Bandung, Jakarta Bhayangkara Presisi won 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 26-24, 25-20).
With that result, Bhayangkara Presisi achieved four wins from a total of five matches played this season. The club owned by Polri collected 12 points to strengthen its position in second place and ensure itself to advance to the final four round following Jakarta LavAni Livin’ Transmedia.
The points tally of Bhayangkara Presisi can no longer be chased by the bottom-ranked team, Jakarta Garuda Jaya. The team, which consists of U-21 national team players, has not recorded a victory with three matches remaining.
"The children actually performed less than optimally, many were exhausted. However, with this victory, we are more optimistic about facing the final four," said Bhayangkara Presisi coach Reidel Toiran.
Reidel's optimism also increased with the presence of new foreign players who will complete the team. Currently, Bhayangkara Presisi's only foreign player is Saber Kazemi from Iran. This means that Bhayangkara Presisi has only registered one foreign player.
In fact, each Proliga 2025 participant can be strengthened by two foreign players to complete the quota of 15 registered players. This season, each team can also replace the composition of the two foreign players they have until before the final four round in mid-April.
Reidel is reluctant to reveal who the new foreign player for Bhayangkara Presisi is. Previously, it was speculated that this foreign player is Noumory Keita, who is currently still playing for Rana Verona in the Italian Volleyball League. However, aside from that, Reidel hopes that the presence of the new foreign player will make the team more solid to face the competition in the top four.
Moreover, Bhayangkara Presisi hopes not only to progress smoothly to the top four, but also to defend the title. Last season, Bhayangkara Presisi emerged as champions after defeating LavAni in the final. They also thwarted LavAni from carving a hat-trick of Proliga titles.
Meanwhile, Palembang Bank SumselBabel also maintains optimism to qualify for the final four following Bhayangkara Presisi and LavAni. Moreover, there are still three matches remaining in the next two weeks. In fact, two of the matches are held at home, PSCC Building, Palembang.
In the sixth week held at GOR Terpadu, Pontianak, Palembang Bank SumselBabel will face LavAni. Subsequently, in the seventh week, which is the last week of the regular round, Palembang will meet Surabaya Samator and Jakarta Garuda Jaya.
"There are still problems in this team, especially quite basic mistakes, such as receiving. However, we remain optimistic that we can qualify for the final four, because there are still opportunities in Pontianak and Palembang," said Palembang Bank SumselBabel coach, Iwan Dedi Setiawan.
