BANDUNG, KOMPAS — The new striker of Persib Bandung, Ramon "Tangue" Souza, shone in the final match of Group G of the AFC Champions League Two against Bangkok United at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium on Wednesday (10/12/2025). Ramon's solitary goal propelled Persib into the round of 16 with a 1-0 victory.
Persib advanced to the round of 16 as the leader of Group G with a total of 13 points. Bangkok United in second place also qualified for the group stage with 10 points.
The match between Persib and Bangkok United at GBLA Stadium, which started at 19:15 WIB, was not an easy one. The visiting team faced not only 11 home players but also 28,216 bobotoh, the nickname for Persib supporters, who were present in the stadium.
Despite having superior ball possession and being supported by tens of thousands of bobotoh, the team nicknamed the Blue Prince had difficulty scoring goals.

Persib had 11 golden opportunities compared to the one golden opportunity created by the visiting team throughout the first half.
One of them was a penalty kick executed by Uilliam Barros which was successfully saved by Bangkok United goalkeeper Patiwat Khammai in the 3rd minute.
Patiwat, who is also the captain of the team nicknamed Bangkok Angels, repeatedly thwarted Maung Bandung's scoring opportunities.
Finally, in the 45+1 minute, Persib's winger, Rosembergne da Silva, delivered a high cross from the left corner of the opponent's defense into the penalty area.

Ramon swiftly seized the pass with a powerful header that broke through Patiwat's goal. Persib led 1-0. This is Ramon's second goal in the last two matches.
Previously, Ramon had consistently failed to score since the beginning of the season in the Super League and ACL Two competitions. The label of a failed purchase this season seems likely to be attached to this 27-year-old man from Brazil.
Entering the second half, Andrew Jung replaced Ramon in the 57th minute. Persib and Bangkok United traded attacks.
Both teams created five golden opportunities in the second half, but none resulted in goals. Several chances for Persib hit the goalposts, while one opportunity for Bangkok United struck the crossbar of goalkeeper Teja Paku Alam.
Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak, when met afterwards, stated that his players performed well despite only winning 1-0. According to him, Persib was simply unlucky as they had many goal-scoring opportunities.

He appreciated Ramon who continued to score important goals for Persib after failing to do so in several matches.
"The increasing number of players scoring goals greatly assists the team. Now, it is not only William but Ramon is also performing his duties well," he added.
Bangkok United coach Totchtawan Sripan admitted that the players did not play according to his instructions. The hosts dominated the game and continued to apply pressure throughout the match.
"The performance among the players was less cohesive and they frequently lost the ball. Meanwhile, Persib played well and continued to apply pressure from the start of the match," said Totchtawan.
