JAKARTA, KOMPAS - The Investment Management Agency of Daya Anagata Nusantara, or BPI Danantara, was officially launched in the central courtyard between the Merdeka Palace and the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (24/2/2025). Danantara's operations are promised to be transparent and in accordance with good governance.
Daya Anagata Nusantara, or Danantara, according to President Prabowo Subianto in his speech at the launch event, is the energy power of the future for Indonesia. "This means that Danantara Indonesia is for our children and grandchildren. Therefore, it must be managed as best as possible, with great care, with utmost transparency, under mutual supervision, and must be auditable at any time by anyone, because, once again, this belongs to our children and grandchildren, to the future generations of the Indonesian nation," he stated.
Danantara, according to the President, is a way to realize public welfare, namely through more optimal management of state assets. Therefore, from budget savings during the first hundred days of President Prabowo's administration, budget savings of more than Rp 300 trillion or almost 20 billion US dollars were obtained.
Collaboration between Danantara Indonesia, state-owned enterprises and private sector partners and MSMEs and cooperatives will be key in maximizing their role in national development.

"The funds that were previously hampered by inefficiency, corruption, and poorly targeted spending will now be allocated to be managed by Danantara Indonesia, invested in 20 or more national projects, as part of our industrialization, and our downstreaming," Prabowo added.
The first wave of investment, the President continued, will be allocated to strategic projects focusing on nickel, bauxite, and copper downstreaming, the development of data centers and artificial intelligence, oil refineries, petrochemical plants, food and protein production, aquaculture, as well as renewable energy. These sectors are considered crucial for the nation's future, resilience, and self-reliance.
In line with Danantara, state-owned enterprises must become national assets that are agents of development and growth. Therefore, the President said, BUMN operations must be of high standards, transparent, in line with technological advances, and prioritize innovation as well as discipline with caution and commitment to good governance.
“Collaboration between Danantara Indonesia, state-owned enterprises and private sector partners and MSMEs and cooperatives will be key in maximizing their role in national development,” the President said.
Therefore, Danantara is said to be not just an investment management body, but must become a national development instrument that will optimize the way Indonesia's wealth is managed.
Danantara was also said by Prabowo to be in line with the vision of the nation's founders and predecessors, namely to manage national resources wisely. Not long after independence, the State Industrial Bank was established to finance the plantation and mining industries.
Indonesia's first president, Soekarno, established IPB because he viewed agriculture as a strategic sector. ITB was also developed as prosperity could be achieved through mastery of technology. President Soeharto, President BJ Habibie, President Abdurrahman Wahid, President Megawati Soekarnoputri, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and President Joko Widodo continued and made significant contributions to laying the foundation.
"Now after almost 80 years have passed, it is time for our generation, our government, to realize the vision of our founders and predecessors. We must ensure that Indonesia's wealth is truly beneficial and its benefits are felt for the benefit of the people and can increase the income level of the Indonesian people," he said.
This promise of transparency is the answer to public concerns. Because, in the latest BUMN Law, article 3Y states that the Minister, organs, and employees of BPI Danantara cannot be held legally responsible for losses if they can prove that the losses were not due to their mistakes or negligence, have managed in good faith and with caution, have no conflict of interest, and have not obtained personal benefits legally.
Just before the launch, President Prabowo Subianto signed the regulations related to Danantara. The legal umbrella is Law Number 1 of 2025 concerning the Third Amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises and Government Regulation Number 10 of 2025 concerning the Organization and Governance of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency.
In addition, Presidential Decree Number 30 of 2025 concerning the Appointment of the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency was also signed. The signing was carried out at the Merdeka Palace, at around 09.30 WIB.
When announcing the signing, the President was accompanied by, among others, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Minister of Investment and Industrial Downstreaming Rosan P Roeslani, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Head of BPI Danantara Muliaman Hadad, Pandu Sjahrir, and Dony Oskaria.
The launch of Danantara was held in the central courtyard between the State Palace and the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The giant tent used during the inauguration of 481 heads and 480 deputy heads of regions, Thursday (20/2/2025), was used again. However, this time the tent contained almost a hundred round tables with white tablecloths with light blue cloth accessories and a vase of white roses. This table was combined with elegant wooden chairs decorated with light blue or purple thin cloth with white seat cushions.
The launch was attended by hundreds of guests. In addition to Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, also invited were, among others, the 7th President Joko Widodo, the 6th President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, and former vice presidents such as Jusuf Kalla, Boediono, and Ma'ruf Amin.
It was also seen that the invitees consisted of general chairmen of political parties, heads of institutions, ambassadors, members of the DPR, businessmen, editors-in-chief, religious figures, and economists such as Prof. Dr. Emil Salim.
Head of the Presidential Communications Office Hasan Nasbi added that in the future, Danantara Indonesia will manage the assets of the Indonesian nation amounting to IDR 14,000 trillion.
To that end, Danantara will be led by Rosan P Roeslani as Chief Executive Officer, Pandu Sjahrir as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Danantara, and Dony Oskaria as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara. As CEO of Danantara, Rosan will also hold a concurrent position that he previously held, namely Minister of Investment and Industrial Downstreaming.

The Danantara Supervisory Board will be led by Erick Thohir as Chairman and Muliaman Hadad as Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board. Former Presidents such as Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Joko Widodo will become Danantara's advisors. "Later, the former Presidents will be invited to become advisors, so that this institution is truly guarded, guarded by figures who are full of integrity and indeed love Indonesia," said Hasan.
Hasan also ensured that Danantara will be managed transparently. Because, President Prabowo has already declared that he will fight corruption and run a clean government. "Danantara will also be managed in the same way, a clean government, an anti-corruption government, Danantara is also managed with anti-corruption, with clean management. Similar institutions abroad comply with common rules, the common rules are contained in the Santiago principles, 24 principles of responsibility, transparency, accountability, that is what Danantara will fulfill," he said.
President Prabowo in his speech also reaffirmed his commitment to building a clean and corruption-free government. "I, along with the government that I lead, supported by a solid coalition, am determined to build a clean government, free from corruption. I will fight corruption as hard as I can and with all the energy and efforts that I can muster without discrimination," said the President.
