JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The Annual Session of the MPR along with the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD, which will take place at the Parliament Complex in Jakarta on Friday (15/8/2025), is expected to be attended by 1,250 people. In addition to listening to the state address from President Prabowo Subianto, this event will also mark the beginning of the DPR's session period for the 2025-2026 Legislative Year.
Chairman of the MPR Ahmad Muzani, during a monitoring of the preparations for the session at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (14/8/2025), stated that the schedule for this session is different from usual. This time, the annual session will take place two days before the commemoration of the Independence Day, which falls on August 17.
However, Muzani emphasized that the determination of this schedule is in accordance with the regulations. He also mentioned that all parties, from the party factions in parliament to the DPD groups, have agreed on the implementation schedule.
"Usually, the event (annual session) takes place the day before the proclamation ceremony. However, since August 17 falls on a Sunday, and then August 16 on a Saturday, the MPR's Rules of Procedure allow for a joint session to be held on August 15," said the politician from the Gerindra Party.

Muzani also stated that President Prabowo will be present at this series of hearings. The session will begin at 09:00, and according to the agenda, Prabowo will deliver a state speech from 10:00 to 10:45 WIB.
In a duration of approximately 45 minutes, the President will deliver the Performance Report of State Institutions and the State Address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in commemoration of the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia. Prior to that, a four-minute video showcasing the achievements of President Prabowo's leadership will be played.
Prabowo will also deliver a state speech during the 1st Plenary Meeting of the DPR for the First Session, 2025-2026 Legislative Year. This speech is in the context of presenting the Introduction or Explanation of the Bill on the State Budget for the Year 2026 along with the Financial Note and Supporting Documents.
The delivery of the state address is scheduled to take place from 14:57 to 15:42 WIB. Overall, this series of sessions concluded at 16:07 WIB, marked by the departure of the President and Vice President's entourage from the Plenary Meeting Room, accompanied by the leaders of the DPR.

Separately, the Head of the Presidential Communication Office (PCO) Hasan Nasbi stated at his office on Thursday that President Prabowo, in his speech at the Annual Session of the MPR, will reveal the performance results of the government that has been in operation for nearly 10 months, or since October 2024.

The Deputy Chairman of the DPR from the Gerindra Party faction, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, was also present at the preparation for the annual session at the Nusantara Building on Thursday. He arrived together with the Deputy Chairman of the DPR from the PKB faction, Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal. Shortly thereafter, the Chairman of the DPD, Sultan Najamudin, also arrived.

The Secretary General of the MPR, Siti Fauziah, added that the message was disseminated randomly using all cellular operators operating in Indonesia. She also claimed that the use of the service was free of charge.
"So, every time we hold this annual meeting, we definitely do a mass distribution. The goal is for the public to know and be able to watch. We're working with the Ministry of Communication and Digital to do that," he said.
