Floods as high as 20 centimeters to 5 meters hit several areas in Bekasi City, South Tangerang City, and Jakarta.

JAKARTA, KOMPAS - Heavy rains that poured over Greater Jakarta caused flooding in many areas until Tuesday morning (4/3/2025). Thousands of residents in Bekasi City, South Tangerang City, and Jakarta were affected by the floods and were forced to evacuate.
Bekasi City in West Java is one of the most affected areas. Floods have submerged 20 points in seven sub-districts.
The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bekasi City, Priadi Santoso, stated that several areas, such as Pondok Gede Permai and Villa Jati Rasa, were submerged in floods up to 3 meters deep. This situation necessitated power outages for the safety of residents.
"Heavy rain in the upstream area of Bekasi River and Bekasi City from afternoon until evening caused flooding. Several locations were severely affected, with water levels reaching up to 3 meters," said Priadi when contacted on Tuesday.
The Bekasi City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that floods have struck East Bekasi, North Bekasi, South Bekasi, Medan Satria, Jatiasih, Pondok Gede, and Rawalumbu. The water levels vary, ranging from 70 cm to 3 meters.
A total of 360 residents have taken refuge in Kampung Lebak, Teluk Pucung, North Bekasi. Meanwhile, 400 other residents are sheltering in their neighbors' homes in Gang Mawar, East Bekasi.
Priadi stated that his team is still combing through flood-affected areas to evacuate impacted residents. They are also distributing emergency aid, including ready-to-eat meals and clean water, as well as coordinating with PT PLN (Persero) for power outages in high-risk areas.
"The BPBD team continues to work on evacuating affected residents and ensuring their safety. The public is urged to remain vigilant and follow the instructions of the officers," said Priadi.

In South Tangerang City, Banten, floods ranging from 20 cm to 1.2 meters high hit 11 points in East Ciputat, Ciputat, Pondok Aren, Pamulang, North Serpong, and West Jurangmangu. A total of 1,960 families in various housing and settlements were affected by the flood.
Pondok Maharta Housing and Taman Mangu Housing were the most affected. 650 families and 400 families were affected by flooding in the area respectively.
South Tangerang City BPBD Task Force Dian Wiriyawan said that heavy rain since Monday night caused flooding until Tuesday morning. Several steps have been taken, such as evacuating affected residents and pumping water at vulnerable points.
Meanwhile, in Jakarta, there are 62 RTs and 4 roads submerged in floods with a height of 20 cm to 5 meters in several locations. The floods came from the overflow of the Ciliwung River, Pesanggrahan River, and Krukut River.
South Jakarta and East Jakarta were the most affected by the floods, especially in Rawajati, Pejaten Timur, and Gedong, which are near the Ciliwung River.
Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji said that until Tuesday morning, hundreds of residents had evacuated to schools, mosques, and RPTRA. The joint team is still evacuating residents, distributing aid, and monitoring flood locations.
Overall, the roads that were flooded were Jalan Basoka Raya, Jalan Strategi Raya, and Jalan Puri Kembangan in West Jakarta, as well as Jalan Puri Mutiara in South Jakarta.
In Jakarta, there are 62 RTs and 4 roads submerged in floodwaters with a height of 20 cm to 5 meters in several locations. The floods came from the overflow of the Ciliwung River, Pesanggrahan River, and Krukut River.
Next, 10 RTs were flooded in West Jakarta. The points are in Rawa Buaya, South Kedoya, and South Kembangan.
In South Jakarta, floods have submerged 30 neighborhood units. The affected areas are Pondok Pinang, Pengadegan, Rawajati, East Cilandak, East Pejaten, Bintaro, and Kebon Baru.
Other areas affected by the flood include 22 RTs in East Jakarta. Starting from Bidara Cina, Cipinang Muara, Kampung Melayu, Balekambang, Cawang to Cililitan and Gedong.
