JAKARTA, KOMPAS - After the conclusion of Proliga 2025, the Central Board of the Indonesian Volleyball Association summoned senior players, as well as those in the under-16 and under-21 age groups, along with male and female beach volleyball players for a training camp. They are preparing for various events this year, including the U-21 World Championship in Indonesia.
In the senior men's sector, a total of 16 players have been called to undergo a national training camp held at the Samator volleyball court building in Surabaya, East Java. According to Erwin Rusni, assistant coach of the Indonesian men's national volleyball team, the players have started training since Monday (19/5/2025).
However, not all players are able to join. "There are only eight players so far. The others are still resting, such as Doni Haryono and Rivan (Nurmulki)," said Erwin.
Doni and Rivan, both of whom are pursuing their careers abroad this season, have just completed their assignments with their respective clubs. In addition to competing in the Thailand League, Doni also participated in the AVC Champions League 2025 with Nakhon Ratchasima. He led the team to the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Rivan has a career in Japan with Wolfdogs Nagoya. After winning the first match of the semifinals, Rivan and his friends lost the next two matches in the best of three format. Finally, their steps were stopped in the semifinals.
This moment marks the first time Rivan has been called back to strengthen the "Red and White" team. The Best Opposite Spiker of the 2017 Asian Women's Championship was previously excluded from the squad due to a one-year ban from participating in international tournaments.
The sanction was imposed on Rivan for violating the rule prohibiting participation in the Kapolri Cup 2023, which was deemed a refusal to play for the Indonesian national team. Following the sanction that ended last year, Rivan has been called up again to strengthen the squad coached by head coach Jeff Jiang Jie.
Rivan and his friends will be participating in three tournaments in the near future. The three tournaments are, among others, the AVC Men’s Volleyball Nation Cup 2025 on June 17-24, 2025 in Manama, Bahrain; Men’s SEA V League 2025 leg 1 on July 9-13, 2025 in the Philippines, and Men’s SEA V League 2025 leg 2 on July 16-20, 2025 in Indonesia.

In the women's sector, a total of 15 players have been called to undergo training camp at the Jenderal Kunarto Volleyball Padepokan, Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java. Some players are regulars in the national team, such as Megawati Hangestri and Mediol Yoku. There are also familiar faces like Yolla Yuliana.
