The defeat to Lazio has led Juventus to experience their worst period since 2009. Failing to score in four matches marks the darkest offensive performance for "The Old Lady" in 34 years.

Juventus has suffered three consecutive defeats in the past week. This winless streak has now extended to a total of eight matches. Before falling to Como, Real Madrid, and Lazio, "The Old Lady" had previously recorded five consecutive draws.
Coach Igor Tudor failed to rally his players after conceding a quick goal from Lazio midfielder, Tom's Basic, in the 9th minute during the eighth week of the 2025-2026 Serie A, Monday (27/10/2025) WIB at the Olympico Stadium. Juventus' efforts to dominate the match with 64 percent ball possession and create 14 shots did not result in any goals.
The result of the match has plunged Juve to eighth place in the temporary standings of the Italian League. Juve is now six points behind Napoli at the top of the table. On the other hand, La Vecchia Signora is eight points away from the relegation zone.
The winless streak in those eight matches is the worst record for Juve since the end of the 2008-2009 season, specifically during the period from April to May 2009. At that time, under the management of Claudio Ranieri, Juve went through eight matches without a single victory.
Although both were poor, during the 2008-2009 season, Juve only suffered two defeats. Meanwhile, six other matches ended in a draw. As a result of these outcomes, Juve dismissed Ranieri on May 18, 2009, and replaced him with interim coach and Juve legend, Ciro Ferrara.

On the other hand, the last time Juventus suffered three consecutive defeats across all competitions was in the middle of the 2009-2010 season. This poor record occurred under Ferrara, who was promoted to head coach at the beginning of that season.
Ferrara, who played alongside Tudor from 1998 to 2005 at Juve, experienced two instances of three consecutive defeats. He witnessed Juve lose to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, followed by losses to Bari and Catania in Serie A Italy from December 8 to 20, 2009.
Furthermore, Ferrara also led Juve to suffer three negative results during the period from January 17 to 28, 2010, when facing Chievo Verona and Roma in the league, and subsequently being eliminated by Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia. This collection of poor results resulted in Ferrara being dismissed by La Vecchia Signora from the coaching position as of January 29, 2010.
It's hard to understand why things aren't going well, but I believe we need to raise our level.
In the 2008-2009 season, Juve finished in second place, 10 points behind the champions, Inter. The following season, La Vecchia Signora ended the competition in seventh place in the Italian League.
By comparing the performance in those two seasons, the winless record experienced by Juve under Tudor at the beginning of this season is already worse than that of Ranieri and Ferrara. The Croatian coach has led Juve in the last three matches with results of losses and without being able to score a single goal against the opponent's net.

However, Tudor's journey, who initially served as a temporary replacement for Thiago Motta last season, is considered to have ended prematurely with Juve. Former Juve icon, Alessandro Del Piero, stated that Tudor is not the sole culprit for the poor performance of La Vecchia Signora after winning the Italian derby against Inter on September 13.
"He (Tudor) doesn't have a first-team squad yet, but that's not because Tudor doesn't want him or hasn't found him. It's more due to the problems of some individual players. They're struggling to produce consistent performances," Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.
"If you look at the best teams in Italy and Europe, they already have a consistent starting eleven that consistently plays in the big matches. This team isn't even in the Scudetto race, even if another coach replaces Tudor," he said later.
Meanwhile, Tudor is not concerned about his situation in the increasingly heated coaching seat at Juve. He emphasizes that his main focus is to help Juve get out of the string of poor results as soon as possible.
"People ask me if I feel safe or worried, but I'm not thinking about myself. I don't care about my future. My only concern is getting out of trouble and trying to improve the team," Tudor said, as reported by Tuttosport.

In addition to the worst defeat record in 16 years, Tudor also recorded Juve's most dismal offensive performance in over three decades. For the first time since 1991, Juve failed to score in four consecutive matches.
At the end of the 1990-1991 season under the guidance of Luigi “Gigi” Maifredi, Juve went through four matches without scoring against Sampdoria, AS Roma, Lecce, and Lazio during the period from February to March 1991. At the end of that season, Juve concluded their journey in seventh place.
In the match against Lazio, Tudor did not field Kena Yildiz from the start. Dusan Vlahovic and Jonathan David formed a striking partnership. However, the two players failed to score.
The entry of Yildiz at the beginning of the second half, followed by Lois Openda, did not change Juventus' fortune in the penalty area of Lazio at all. According to Tudor, every effort has been made to score, but the issues in the attacking line have not yet been resolved due to unstable individual performances.
"We are all responsible. We must do better and remain united. Problems will continue to arise if someone keeps making mistakes, even when constantly reminded not to do so," he said.

Mattia Perin, the Juventus goalkeeper who played as a starter at the Olympico, does not consider Tudor to have failed in making a positive impact on the team. Perin urged his teammates to promptly improve individually in order to enhance the collective performance of the team.
"We believe in the coach's ideas. Emotionally, we appreciate what he instills in us. It is difficult to understand why everything is not going well, but I am confident that we need to raise our level," said Perin to DAZN.
"We have trained well this week, but that did not show in the match. It is difficult to pinpoint a single issue from this series of poor results," he stated subsequently.
Hopefully, Juve's patience will soon be rewarded by Tudor returning to the path of victory. If not, Tudor will repeat Ferrara's trajectory, instead of duplicating the brilliant achievements once written by another former colleague at Juve, Antonio Conte.
