Like the allies in Surabaya 1945, now Trump is giving Tehran residents an ultimatum to evacuate. Trump is also sending additional fleets to the Middle East

ALBERTA, TUESDAY-US President Donald Trump issued an ultimatum to the citizens of Tehran, Iran. He also ordered additional military forces to the Middle East.
An ultimatum was issued by Trump while attending the G-7 Summit in Alberta, Canada, on Monday (16/6/2025) local time or early Tuesday morning WIB. "Leave Tehran immediately," said Trump.
He did not elaborate further on the meaning of his ultimatum. What is clear is that a series of explosions were heard in Tehran a few hours after that statement.
Not only Trump, but Israel is also urging the residents of Tehran to leave the city. The Israeli military, Tzahal, has repeatedly broadcast this message in Arabic, Persian, and English. "Tzahal will bombard the area and most of Tehran," stated Tzahal.
The ultimatum is reminiscent of the one broadcasted by Allied forces in November 1945 in Surabaya, East Java. At that time, the Allies requested Indonesian independence fighters to surrender and civilians to stay away from the combat zones. What actually occurred was the outbreak of the events of November 10, 1945.
Since Iran was attacked by Israel, some of its citizens have indeed sought refuge. However, more Iranian citizens have chosen to remain in their country. The flow of Iranian refugees includes those heading to Turkey, one of Iran's neighbors.
On the other hand, Iran continues to retaliate against Israel's attacks. The restrictions on information dissemination in Israel prevent the extent of the damage from being known to the world.
Since Saturday, Tzahal has prohibited residents from sharing photos and videos of the damage caused by the Iranian attacks. Israeli media, Kann, reported that foreign journalists are now banned from broadcasting news regarding the impact of the Iranian attacks on Israel.

Trump is not only issuing ultimatums to Iran. He is also ordering an increase in U.S. forces in the Middle East. A U.S. defense official, who requested to remain anonymous, confirmed that there is an addition of air tanker aircraft.
Flight tracking websites indicate that 31 US air tankers are heading to the Middle East on Monday. The majority of these aircraft are KC-135 and KC-46. These tankers can refuel up to 240 fighter jets.
Before Israel attacked Iran, the US deployed dozens of bombers to Diego Garcia Base in the Indian Ocean. In May 2025, some of the aircraft left the British-owned base. Currently, the US maintains a portion of B-2 bombers at the base.
In addition to air tankers, the United States has also deployed the Naval Strike Group (Guspurla) based on the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, moving from the South China Sea to the Middle East. This order has led Guspurla USS Nimitz to cancel its visit to Vietnam.
When the USS Nimitz arrives, the United States will once again have two aircraft carriers in the Middle East. Currently, the USS Carl Vinson is stationed in the region. The Carl Vinson has been operating in the Middle East for several months.
The USS Nimitz and USS Carl Vinson are of the same class and both carry, among other aircraft, the F/A-18. The difference is that the USS Nimitz is older, having begun operations in 1975, while the USS Carl Vinson commenced operations in 1982.
Before Nimitz arrived, the Carl Vinson Task Force was stationed alongside the Harry Truman Task Force in the Middle East. The Harry Truman Task Force conducted several strikes against Yemen.

The increase in military strength demonstrates the support of the United States for Israel. Last Tuesday, the United States sent 300 Hellfire missiles to Israel. Some of the missiles were used by Israel to attack Iran.
On the other hand, to his partners in the G7, Trump emphasized that the United States would not intervene in Israel's attacks on Iran. This stance is maintained as long as no American citizens are attacked by Iran.
Together with its allies in the G7, the United States also reaffirmed its support for Israel. They blamed Iran, the country currently being attacked by Israel, as the source of regional chaos.
On the other hand, in the joint statement of G7 leaders, there is a call for de-escalation of tensions. However, they did not mention Israel's attacks on Iran.
Trump left the G7 summit earlier. French President Emmanuel Macron stated that Trump returned to push for a ceasefire between Israel and Iran. Trump denied this. (AP/AFP)
