JAKARTA, KOMPAS - The largest competition in the sport of football, the 2026 World Cup, is approaching. Televisi Republik Indonesia (TVRI), as the broadcasting rights holder, has prepared three things to welcome the grand event that will take place in June-July 2026 in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Acting Director General of TVRI, Rika Damayanti, during a press conference held in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (25/03/2026), stated that one of the preparations made by her team is the broadcast of the trial or friendly matches of the World Cup participants.
"We have prepared three matches that the public will be able to watch starting from March 27, 2026," he stated at a press conference at the TVRI Office, Senayan, Central Jakarta.
The three matches that will definitely be broadcast by TVRI are Brazil versus France on March 27, followed by Scotland against Ivory Coast and Brazil versus Croatia on April 1. Brazil and France are among the favorites to win the 23rd edition of the FIFA World Cup.
The broadcast of these prestigious friendly matches is expected to generate public enthusiasm ahead of the 2026 World Cup. In addition, TVRI can also test its readiness to broadcast major matches live.

"For these matches, we will present sports journalists, particularly in football. We will also feature players or former football players," said Chief Editor of the World Cup Broadcast at TVRI, Usman Kansong.
In addition, TVRI also prepared a media center to help or facilitate media crews who will cover news related to the 2026 World Cup. In addition to equipment such as computers, TVRI also prepared a rest room for sports journalists who cover the excitement of the World Cup.
"Later, we will officially extend invitations to media leaders. Media colleagues must register in advance," he said.
This media center, Usman revealed, is expected to facilitate media personnel in obtaining information related to the 2026 World Cup easily. Thus, the general public can also receive information about the event more quickly and accurately.
The third preparation, Rita revealed, is the tagline that TVRI will use for the 2026 World Cup. They have decided that the tagline they will use to enliven the 2026 World Cup is "Happy Ball." This tagline also represents TVRI's commitment that all of its programs, especially those related to the 2026 World Cup, will always be a source of joy for their viewers, the Indonesian people.

"Football is one of the most popular sports among the Indonesian community. We hope that the broadcast of this (World Cup) can unite our society," Rita said subsequently.
On that occasion, Rita also urged the Indonesian public not to access illegal broadcasts and to support legitimate or legal broadcasting.
During the event, the Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, stated that since it is funded by the state budget, the broadcasts of the 2026 World Cup by TVRI should not charge any fees. Moreover, he emphasized that as a public broadcasting institution, TVRI is owned by all Indonesian citizens.
He also emphasized that with the broadcast of the 2026 World Cup, the public is expected to receive not only entertainment but also education through the selective choice of advertisements by TVRI.
Overall, he assessed that TVRI has adequately prepared for the broadcast of the 2026 World Cup. "Compared to private television stations, TVRI has had a fairly good network throughout Indonesia. Therefore, this is what we encourage to ensure there are no network issues when the 2026 World Cup begins," Saleh stated after the press conference.
