Strengthening Coalition Solidarity, Prabowo Invites "KIM Plus" Political Party Leaders to Hambalang

BOGOR, KOMPAS - President Prabowo Subianto held a gathering with members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, as well as all the chairpersons of political parties within the Koalisi Indonesia Maju or KIM Plus, and regional heads supported by KIM Plus, at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday (14/2/2025). This gathering is considered important to further strengthen the coalition's solidarity.

Kompas' monitoring, the atmosphere at the main gate of Prabowo's residence has been crowded since 11:00 WIB. Cars of cabinet members and party leaders continued to arrive. Congestion around the residence of the Gerindra Party General Chairman was unavoidable.

In fact, to avoid traffic congestion, several ministers and party elites had to ride motorcycles. Among them were the Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs who is also the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan, the Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PPMI) Abdul Kadir Karding, and the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party Mochamad Iriawan.

Occasionally, an Isuzu Elf vehicle carrying groups of regional heads was also seen entering through the main gate. A sign indicating the origin of the regional heads was placed on the front windshield of the vehicle.

The Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Nasdem Party, Willy Aditya, when met in front of Prabowo's residence gate, said that all leaders of the KIM Plus parties were invited by President Prabowo for a national gathering agenda. However, the Chairman of Nasdem, Surya Paloh, was unable to attend, so he was represented by the Chairman of the Nasdem DPR Faction and the Deputy Chairman of Nasdem.

"So, this is a coalition gathering. That's the only agenda," said Willy.

Not only party leaders, Willy revealed that the regional heads supported by KIM Plus in the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada) were also invited to this gathering event. He heard that President Prabowo would also provide guidance regarding the restructuring and budget efficiency policies recently initiated by the government.

"So that the coalition then has political back up, one breath, and whatever his (Prabowo's) policies are understood by the coalition directly and then what will be the next steps. That is the agenda. But at least, this is, right, a gathering. So the atmosphere is more fluid," said Willy.

The Chairman of the Organization, Cadreization, and Membership (OKK) of the Gerindra Party Central Executive Board (DPP), Prasetyo Hadi, stated that this gathering event was held to commemorate the one-year mark of the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). He did not deny that this moment was also used by President Prabowo to strengthen the coalition's solidarity.

"Silaturahmi, right, KIM's silaturahmi. This is, right, one year after the presidential election," said Prasetyo.

He said, almost all general chairmen of the KIM Plus party could attend the gathering event, this Friday. However, there are also several general chairmen of the party who can only attend at the peak of the celebration of Gerindra's 12th anniversary, which will be held on Saturday (2/15/2025) tomorrow morning, at the Sentul City International Convention Center, Bogor.

Prasetyo continued, Prabowo did not invite the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) to the gathering on Friday, because PDI-P is not part of KIM Plus. "Ah, right, no, not yet part of KIM, not yet, not yet," he said.

Meanwhile, Democrat Party politician Dede Yusuf Macan Effendi has not been able to confirm the presence of its general chairman, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, because the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development plans to pay his respects at the funeral home of Democrat Treasurer Renville Antonio. Renville died in an accident on Friday morning in Situbondo, East Java.

"What is clear is that because this (the deceased) was the General Treasurer, of course we have to offer condolences. So, most likely Mas AHY (Agus) will come there (Situbondo) because he has to be buried today, he said," said Dede.

However, the Chairman of the Democratic High Council who is also the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is certain to attend the gathering. "Mr. SBY (Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono) has already entered (Prabowo's residence)," he said.
